These churns were labeled as Old Fashioned Mixers and could churn butter, mix drinks and mash fruits and vegetables. They featured a glass jar and wooden top with paddle. The reason this churn is so old fashioned is because of its simplicity. All of the antique churns on the market today, while not practical for use today, are whimsical and a fun addition to any antiques collection. They give you an idea of what life was like for families many years ago. Today, you can go to the supermarket and buy butter. Back then, you had to make it yourself!

Because this item is not as plentiful as other types of antiques it may be difficult to find in your local antique shops.
